We first worked together as founders of Santa Clara Plays Fair where we fought against a public subsidy for the 49ers’ stadium, and I was quickly impressed with her strong work ethic, sound judgement, and absolute trustworthiness. Karen is always willing to back up her beliefs with a commitment of her time and effort.

Karen is also an outstanding, award-winning math, computer science, and robotics teacher at Wilcox High School, where she helped to create the computer science program in Santa Clara Unified School District.

In all of her work, Karen balances attention to detail with practicality, always looking for innovative solutions to problems faced by the city and community. She is able to deal with a variety of people and personalities with respect and an open mind. I am grateful for all of her service to the community, and I look forward her continued service on the Santa Clara City Council."
