Having known Karen Hardy for three decades, I have witnessed her deep commitment to both the preservation of Santa Clara’s unique historic resources and the responsibility to ensure its growth into a sustainable future, without ever losing track of what its citizens need to make their city the special placeit is. I gladly endorse Karen Hardy for Mayor of Santa Clara in the Fall 2026 City Election because during the past 35 years that I have known her Karen has provided our city with wise, successful, and compassionate leadership at every level and in every sphere of city life.  As our Mayor, Karen will continue to pursue the best interests of our uniquely blessed city with excellence and love.

Throughout my career in public service, I have worked to strengthen ethical leadership, transparency, and community involvement in local government. Karen Hardy has been a champion for these issues in her service to Santa Clara.

Karen’s service on the City Council, Planning Commission, Historical Commission, and regional water boards demonstrates a broad and thoughtful understanding of Santa Clara’s needs. Karen approaches public service with empathy, respect, and a commitment to ensuring that every resident feels heard.

As a teacher, founder of an internationally recognized robotics program, and in her community work, Karen shows a deep belief in opportunity, inclusion, and fairness.

Her leadership reflects values that matter to me ~integrity, responsibility, and a belief that good government should improve people’s lives. She brings both experience and heart to the work.

I have worked closely with Karen for the almost four years on the BAWSCA Board. She is extremely smart and works well with everyone.
